Envision Change. Now.
Clinical care, research, education, and innovation in neurology.
Driven by the idea that health equity is the goal and not just a concept.
I aim to improve the lives of people living with epilepsy in big ways, pushing past barriers created by determinants of health.
Expertise Grounded in Evidence and Empathy
I'm a neurologist, epileptologist, and clinician-researcher at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis — and at the core of everything I do is a simple conviction: that where you come from should never determine the quality of care you receive.
My journey into medicine began with a love of mathematics at the University of Florida, which taught me to look for patterns, ask precise questions, and never accept a problem as unsolvable. That same mindset followed me to Howard University College of Medicine, through neurology residency, and into a specialized clinical epilepsy fellowship and it's the lens through which I approach both my patients and my research today.
As an attending physician, my work lives at the intersection of clinical care and discovery. I am passionate about epilepsy — its diagnosis, its treatment, and the persistent gaps in how it is experienced across different communities. I hold board certifications in both Neurology and Epilepsy, and I've had the privilege of receiving recognition from the American Academy of Neurology for my work in health care equity, including the AAN H. Richard Tyler Award, the AAN Health Care Equity Research Award, and a DEI Project Grant. I also serve as the Inaugural Section Editor for Equity Neuroscience at the Journal for the Society for Equity Neuroscience — a role that feels less like a title and more like a calling.
But medicine, for me, has never stopped at the clinic door. I'm a founding committee member of IMPACT Epilepsy, a national advisory committee member for the Epilepsy Alliance America and the Epilepsy Foundation Research Ambassador Program, and a seasoned speaker at community outreach events on epilepsy and dementia — from local YMCAs to national conferences. I believe that the most important breakthroughs in neurology won't only come from the lab; they'll come from listening to patients, building trust in communities that have historically been underserved, and training the next generation of physicians to do the same. If that mission resonates with you, I'd love to connect.
